In the last public statement, describing the first visit in almost three months when Marius could finally see the boys, we mentioned that the joy of the parents was dampened by some issues which at that time we chose not to make public yet.

Matei had a very bad scratch on his back and bruises, while Ioan had bruises on his face. When questioned by the parents for details, Barnevernet representatives didn’t give many explanations, downplaying these aspects. Norwegian Lawyers Protecting Pedophiles

A Norwegian lawyer criticized the local judicial system that, in her opinion, protects pedophiles. As a result, in many families children are forced to live with parents who subject them to sexual abuse. All attempts to appeal to the court are unsuccessful because the testimony of the children simply is not trusted.

During the past two weeks numerous rallies in support of the Bodnariu family (and against Barnevernet, the Norwegian Child Protection Service) took place in various capitals around the world: Bucharest, Washington, London, Rome, Madrid, Vienna, Prague, Brussels, The Hague, Dublin, Copenhagen, Oslo, Ottawa, Chișinău. Public gatherings were also organized in cities such as Barcelona, Torino, Frankfurt and Milan.

In Romania, the crowds of supporters were significantly larger, with 2.000 participants in Arad and at least 5.000 in Suceava. Other meetings were held in Constanța, Cluj-Napoca and Timișoara. As the wave of protests grows, keeping track of all the gatherings is becoming increasingly difficult for someone like me, who cannot follow the case with undivided attention.

Yesterday was a very important day for Marius and Ruth Bodnariu

After almost three months, for the first time, Marius was able to see the boys, Matei and Ioan. Until now, only Ruth had permission to see them once a week for two hours. It was emotional: two hours that Marius anticipated and waited for impatiently, considering that after promising that they will be able to see the boys last week, Barnevernet delayed the visit for one week on the excuse that they were not able to prepare all details for the reunion.

Ruth was filled with joy to see how happy the boys were to see Marius. Marius was happy to see the children’s joy, but also for Ruth who almost fell into depression last week when the visit was cancelled and delayed.
