Barnevernet Boss Comments on the Bodnariu Case

Go away. Everything is fine. Nothing to see here…

That seems to be the attitude of Solveig Horne, the Norwegian Minister of Children and Equality, as if the Bodnariu case was just any other CPS case.

She said as reported by The Local: “I’m glad to hear that the parents and Barnevernet have come to an agreement and will cooperate so that the children can move back in with their parents. Now we will respect the children and the family by complying with their request for peace.” Continue reading “Barnevernet Boss Comments on the Bodnariu Case”

IMPORTANT UPDATE: AS OF MAY 31st, 2016, THIS FB POST HAS BEEN DELETED BY THE PM’S PAGE AND SOME COMMENTATORS HAVE BEEN BANNED FROM HER PAGE.

For the first time since the Bodnariu children were confiscated by Barnevernet, prime minister Erna Solberg issued a statement in the form of a comment on her FB page. The controversy surrounding this has set off a firestorm.

On Nov. 16, the Norwegian version child protective services agency, known as Barnevernet, took two sisters, ages 8 and 10, out of school and into custody. Officials then visited the girls’ home, where they removed two of their brothers, ages 2 and 5. The next day, they came and took a fifth sibling, only 3 months old. Home School Legal Defense Association Publicizes the Bodnariu Case

The Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA) is an advocacy group representing 84,000 families in the US, and they did what few have done to help the Bodnariu family.

The HSLDA went to Norway at the time of the April 16th, 2016 protest to see for themselves the international drama that has painted Norway in the worst possible light. They interviewed Marius and Ruth, Ruth’s sister, and a number of other supporters at the protest in Stryn. The HSDLA is also calling for supporters to contact the Norwegian Embassy in Washington, DC to express their outrage over the confiscation of the Bodnariu children.

While most of us offered support for the Bodnariu family from far away, the HSLDA went to the tiny town in Norway where the Bodnarius live to document for the rest of us that they are a great family and they are not alone in this difficult time. Freedom of expression in Barnevern cases
Speech at the demonstration outside the Norwegian parliament on 16 April 2016 by Marianne H. Skanland

Freedom of speech is important and positive. This is an opinion shared by most of us. Why?

It cannot be because it’s always nice to hear people’s honest opinion. It isn’t nice, because it is so often critical.

So again: Why do we think it is important? Continue reading “Professor Marianne H. Skanland Discourse in Oslo on April 16th, 2016”

Barnevernet Resorting to Intimidation

2268503

Delight in Truth has received multiple private messages on Facebook from different persons who were targeted by Barnevernet without having done anything wrong. Some were harassed because they spoke out against the CPS on their social media accounts, others were targeted because they are a single parent, while others had their children removed for the simple fact that they themselves were raised in Barnevernet part of their life. Some of these people had their children removed temporarily, while others have yet to receive their children back. Continue reading “Barnevernet Resorting to Intimidation”

The Bodnariu case is undeniably all over the international media. I have seen articles and news broadcasts from Europe, Asia, America and Australia. In this clip, Ruth Bodnariu’s sister Ingrid Elisabeth discusses the case on Norwegian TV. I remember a line from Norwegian lawyer Marius Reikeras a couple of months ago to the effect: “Naustdal will soon become Norway’s most well-known place abroad.” Continue reading “Ruth Bodnariu’s Sister Discusses Case on Norwegian TV – English Subtitles”
