The situation within Norwegian Child Protection Services

In the wake of Barnevernet confiscation of children from families like Bodnariu and Nan, many Romanian families are not taking a chance, and they are leaving the country.
Barnevernet in certain counties is in full damage-control mode. They have had town hall meetings to try to educate Romanians living in Norway about their Child Protective Services. They are concerned that families are leaving from towns like Skjervøy where a sizable population of Romanians are doing farm work. With sadness and indignation Delight in Truth brings you the story of Cecilie Bedsvaag and the injustice done to her by Barnevernet. This is the story of her mixed Romanian-Norwegian daughter who was abusively confiscated and placed in foster care in England. The world needs to know about these cases and rise up in protest against the Norwegian CPS for destroying families.

In the last public statement, describing the first visit in almost three months when Marius Bodnariu could finally see the boys, we mentioned that the joy of the parents was dampened by some issues which at that time we chose not to make public yet.
Matei had a very bad scratch on his back and bruises, while Ioan had bruises on his face. When questioned by the parents for details, Barnevernet representatives didn’t give many explanations, downplaying these aspects. Norwegian politician criticizes Barnevernet in the Prague Post
Mr. Jan Simonsen, a personal friend of EAL Convenor Jan-Aage Torp since 1999, was a member of Stortinget (Norway´s Parliament) for 16 years, as well as a member of the Committee on Legal Affairs and Human Rights in the Council of Europe. Simonsen has sent us this article for re-publication. It was first published in the Prague Post on January 8th.
